THE MAKERS SERIES
The Makers Series is a new limited-edition imprint of Rafa de Cardenas and Casa Bosques Chocolates in honor of Black creators. Each edition in the series is produced in support of a select charity which receives 100% of the profits.
The first edition of the Makers series was created in collaboration with DeVonn Francis of Yardy World, and highlights the work of three Black artists – works by and texts on whom grace our packaging. They are Mary L. Bennett, of the legendary Gee's Bend quilters, Joe Light, and Ronald Lockett – all visionary, boundary-bursting practitioners
DeVonn's sublime contribution, a recipe inspired by the work of Bennett, Light, and Lockett, which combine ingredients drawn from his Jamaican Heritage - ginger, bay leaf, and chamomile flower - with truly remarkable single-origin cacao beans sourced by Casa Bosques from Chiapas, Mexico.
This edition benefits The Okra Project, a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home-cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans people wherever they can reach them.
